Webcasting an efficient and effective means of broadcasting a presentation one-way via the Internet to an unlimited audience. The presentation can be video, audio and PowerPoint. The broadcast can be live or on demand including many features such as: Q and A, polling and registration.

What are the requirements to do a videoconference?

The minimum requirements are a broadband connection, a videoconferencing codec and a monitor. The videoconference codec comes equipped with a room microphone and a camera, and the monitor will allow you to see the other site as well as hear them through the monitor’s speakers. There are more elaborate set ups possible to give you a complete multi media experience.

How much advance notice is required in order to set up a conference?

As with most things technical, there can never be enough advance notice. VCC would need to ensure that a technician is available for testing and setup the day prior to the conference, network availability and the venue. Depending on the complexity of the conference, VCC would hope to have at least a week’s notice, but have successfully produced events with 3 hours notice.
